Comparison between the fall of the Roman Empire and that the decline of western civilisation
August 4th, 2008 by cris · 1 Comment
A guy named Gerald Flurry from www.thetrumpet.com has an interesting piece about the fall of the Roman Empire:
Roman Empire and us
I’ve heard Dennis say something similar (the civilizations are not destroyed, they commit suicide).
This guy identifies five reasons for the decline of Rome, and what we can learn from it (actually it’s from The Rise […]

June 1st, 2008 by admin-3 · 3 Comments
Fossil fuels may cause a “Carbon Crisis” but this is not for the first time. In fact, it’s the fourth time. Let’s look at the first three drastic technological changes that released large quantities of Carbon Dioxide:
The Discovery of Fire: Using fires to hunt and cook food, man changed the face of Africa. First man […]

April 20th, 2008 by Dan · 2 Comments
Hello,
I thought it might be easier to introduce myself with a post rather then email so here goes. First off, thanks for having me, I’ve been a fan of Dennis for around 6 years I would say. I’m originally from Chicago, IL but moved to Duisburg, Germany almost a year ago now. To be honest […]

Gasoline Prices in Germany
April 18th, 2008 by Füchsin · 2 Comments
The photo shows today’s actual prices of gasoline in Germany (in my town)
The prices are per liter (not per gallon)
1 gallon = 3.78 Liter
that means: the prices above are for 0.26 gallon each.
That means: 1 gallon of unleaded gasoline in Germany costs 5.55 Euro = US$ 8.73 as of today.
The price includes 60 % (!) […]

Another legacy of the feel-good generation: kids and our desire that they love us
April 16th, 2008 by cris · 3 Comments
Nowadays, we seem to think the most important thing when relating to our kids is that they feel good. We want the kids to love us by all means.
What makes me say that?
We think that the primary goal of a parent is to be loved by the kid. Of course, that is important, too, but […]

Friday, Feb 29, H1: Guest Host Mark Taylor: Very interesting talk about the problem of the huge number of wild and left behind dogs and cats in Los Angeles. What a desolate situation. I’m very sorry for the animals and I’m angry for those irresponsible wannabe-pet-owners, that just throw them away […]

When Princeton was not so left-oriented
January 27th, 2008 by cris · No Comments
I heard on Dennis’ show that the professors of Princeton donated to the Democratic Party only: http://dennisprager.townhall.com/blog/g/ef6238af-2769-4582-b854-4d353bb282b4
And I couldn’t help remembering the introductory speech of the professors in “The beautiful mind” (it happens at the University of Princeton, too). This is the kind of speech you never forget:
Mathematicians won the war. Mathematicians broke the Japanese […]
